A Casino Movie Review

Casino

A casino is a place where champagne glasses clink and people get excited over the possibilities of winning. Whether it’s the chance to try their luck at blackjack, poker, or roulette, there is something about the thrill of gambling that brings out the best in people. The environment is always lively and the music is upbeat, giving players a sense of adrenaline that is hard to find elsewhere.

Something about casinos makes them a tempting target for cheating and stealing. This is why they spend a lot of time and money on security. Elaborate systems include video cameras that monitor tables minute-by-minute and warn staff if any unusual patterns emerge. Roulette wheels are electronically inspected for statistical anomalies, and many slot machines have built-in microcircuitry to ensure their payouts are consistent with the odds.

Despite the dangers, casinos bring in huge amounts of money. These profits are re-invested into the local economy, helping to grow it and create jobs. These benefits have led many communities to welcome casino establishments. However, a lot of planning goes into making sure that the casino’s presence does more good than bad in its immediate neighborhood.

Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone make the perfect pairing for this movie, and both put in incredible performances. Joe Pesci is also terrific as Santoro, adding tension and menace to every scene he appears in. At almost three hours, the film never lags and remains riveting until the end.
